On our last day of this course we learned about wikis, legal aspects and made scenarios of how we would use weblogs in our own courses.
I already made a first draft of a weblog for my ahs2 course.

We also did some podcasting and had an interview with ross about how to use weblogs in the classroom.

I enjoyed this course very much and I am sure I'll use the things we've learned not only in the classroom.

in the classroom you can use weblogs to reflect or comment on previous lessons
you can exchange information on a more informal level (either students - students or students - teacher)

It is also easy for students to access material / required reading --> you don't need to handout copies of articles but you can post a link to the article on your weblog and give the students some tasks.

The students are also steadily informed about new material if they subscribe to a blog via rss. (e,g, the latest BBC news, ....)

You can also post links to grammar exercises, which the students then can do online.


A weblog is also a good way to practise writing
--> doing homework --> SS write their essays and send them to their teacher's weblog
teacher and other students can comment on the other students' essays

You can also use it for discussions on certain topics we talked about

I also need to do English literature with my students:
- Teacher and students can collect links to information about the author, background information,... and post them on the weblog
-SS can also write reviews on the books they've read

and you can also make polls like "Who was your favourite character? "or
Which of the books we read together did you like best?
