We couldn't do anything in the web today, as we had no internet connnection at all.
discussed how to use weblogs (for teachers, students, in the classroom, ...) and developed own scenarios - on paper.

also heard something about podcasts, which seems to be a good means for doing listenings either at home or in the classroom (but therefore we would need computers in the classes, which are not yet available at the Polycollege)

had time to visit Holyrood Palace and walk up the Royal Mile --> very beautiful, took some photos.

started using flickr, whcih I think is great. Here you can store your photos, link the flickr page to my weblog, or post individual photos from flickr in my weblog. I can also tag the various photos, which means I asign them one or more keywords under which I will find the photos again.
It is also great that I can make add notes on my photos and write something into the photos (Good for beginners --> vocabulary learning like a picture dictionary, or creative writing --> T provides some pictures, SS write picture stories).

Tagging
With the technorati generator I can tag my weblog posts --> I asign certain keywords to my weblog posts and in this way organize and group them. I can also find other other weblog posts which have the same topic

I can also tag links I want to find again easily with del.icio.us
This is done by copying the link and then click "post to del.icio.us.

I managed to make a link to bloglines.com in the text I wrote yesterday. Great!!!!

today we did something about trackbacks, rss,links,
registered at bloglines.com, and tagging. Maybe I forgot something but that's what I remember. Had some troubles with the del.icio.us site, but in the end we solved the problems. Internet also disconnects at least at hourly intervals -at times every 15 minutes.

I seem to be able to do most of the things we learned with the help of my notes ( writing down everything in my notebook - how oldfashioned)
The greatest problem for me is when to use what (I can do a trackback, and I can also put in an rss feed into my weblog - but when do I use a trackback and what do I use an rss for???)
Patrick was so kind to expain it to me again.
